I love this view out over Lake Wentworth, with the Belknap Mountains forming the skyline. I took this photo in mid-October while cycling home on Route 109 — a quiet stretch that always reminds me why we live in New Hampshire.

In 1995, I was hired by a couple in Ossipee,NH to remodel their bedroom. The project included a small addition and an upgrade to their walk-in closet. We spent a week researching and finalized the plan at their kitchen table—measuring clothing, calculating rod and shelf heights, and selecting finishes. The results were an epiphany.

In mid-90s New Hampshire, closet companies didn’t exist, and most builders treated closets as an afterthought. Many still do. That realization inspired Denise and me to start a our custom closet business.

ClosetPlace was founded in 2004 as the natural evolution of my home remodeling work.
